"Michigan's Top Table" Tapawingo Chosen by Gourmet Readers |

In a September presentation at Gourmet's magazine headquarters in New York, Tapawingo was announced as one of 24 restaurants throughout the United States and Canada chosen as their area's "Top Table". The choices were made by Gourmet magazine subscribers. Within the categories available, Tapawingo garnered awards for best food, best wine list, best plate presentation, and also the most romantic setting. Chef Pete was on hand to accept the award, including an impressive trophy designed by eminent restaurant designer, Adam Tihany. Lunch for all the recipients followed at Chef Daniel Bouloud's eponymous restaurant, Restaurant Daniel. In a separate city category, Restaurant Daniel was chosen as New York City's "Top Table" from a field of 20 award winners from the Big Apple alone. The 1997 awards were published in the October issue of Gourmet. |
